Final Thoughts
My final thoughts on Top 10 Books every woman should read is that if you are an avid reader who loves to pick up a book and just can’t put it down after reading the first page. In reading other books by Ms. Angelou, I find that she does not hold back in relaying details of her life and times. Sometimes her words can be brutal and harsh, but they are always poetic and genuine and truthful in presenting how it was for so many during that time period in American history. Ms. Angelou could write a cookbook and I would purchase it! She writes with such grace, yet without airs or any pretense whatsoever. This is definitely one of my favorite books by Ms. Angelou—and, yes, I have read all of them—and highly recommend it. It gives us an inside look at her incredible career, with countless insightful stories of her trials and triumphs. Whether you’re interested in fashion or not, she is an inspiring success story everyone can learn from. Anyone who reads The Woman I Wanted To Be will come away with an appreciation for how being relentless, never giving up and consistently working hard are what ultimately got her where she is today. Her struggles with learning English as a young immigrant living in New York City are especially impressive considering where she’s ended up today! This isn’t just another celebrity memoir; it’s truly inspirational for anyone hoping to make their mark on the world. It was very captivating and emotional. It made me feel something when I read it, and that is what I look for in any story. The plot was very good, and every character had an interesting story to tell. There were many twists and turns throughout which kept me on my toes at all times. These collection of short stories are tightly woven together like an old piece of fabric; some stories seem to last longer than others, but it’s what makes them stand out more that everything ties into everything else. All in all, I would highly recommend reading The Beggar Maid by Alice Munro to anyone who enjoys literature! It is based in World War II, from around when it started until when it ended. Night tells us through suspense and mystery how it was to be alive in such dark times. It shows us not only what life was like for Jews in concentration camps but also how others reacted to them being mistreated and killed just because they were different. Some people stayed indifferent to them being taken away while some risked their lives for these people no matter what religion or race they were. A book that will challenge your outlook of how you perceive what is around you, making it a great read for anyone, but especially those who wish to delve into an emotional story about love and loss. The novel Night by Elie Wiesel follows his true accounts as he and his family were separated from their home during World War II and transported to Auschwitz, where they were forced to live in horrific conditions. Throughout his life, he reflects on who he was before and after these events occurred. I highly recommend this book for everyone irrespective of any gender. The challenges she lists are significant for all women no matter what they do for a living or what obstacles they have faced personally from childhood or from being born into certain socio-economic conditions. This book teaches you about women’s rights, their changing roles in today’s society, and how to change your outlook on what gender should be. Many books out there are stuck in traditional family values, but it is time for society to realize that things have changed drastically. Women can’t rely on men for everything or be bound by their traditional gender roles anymore. The book teaches you how to take control of your life and overcome obstacles standing in your way. It also shows that even if you’re a woman, you shouldn’t sit back and let someone else go ahead of you because they believe they deserve it more or can do better at something because of their gender. Even though it may be similar to novels such as Tuck Everlasting or The Book Thief, it really is different because it makes you feel like every single one of those characters are your friends. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes books that have an interesting story-line and great character development. The characters are so different from each other, yet they have just as many similarities as they do differences. This book talks about how men treat women as an inferior gender and over time people expect that there will be differences between genders. De Beauvoir states that these stereotypes give rise to women being oppressed through sexual relationships, marriage, childbearing roles, etc. I would recommend reading it if you are interested in feminist topics or history. I personally found it very intruiging and thought-provoking, and some parts of it were very dense! That information included everything from how their bodies work during pregnancy to what could be done to manage menopause symptoms. The new version has been updated to include facts on various aspects of female anatomy as well as recommendations on how to stay healthy throughout life stages, as well as recommendations for ways to combat them through diet and exercise changes. In addition to being beautifully designed and fun to read, Our Bodies, Ourselves has something valuable to say on every page. In each chapter of their book, women from all walks of life speak out with candor and clarity on questions that have been shrouded in silence and stigma. Readers will be empowered by their stories while also realizing they are not alone in their experiences. This new edition is an essential guidebook for every woman! She explores life from an observant and analytical perspective of a young woman who has found herself questioning all aspects of her relationships with men and women, including her romantic relationships with her friends, family members, co-workers and even lovers. As Sheila examines how people behave around each other and their perceptions on issues such as monogamy and gender roles, she describes situations that are very similar to those that many people may have encountered themselves or know someone who has been in similar situations. A strong narrative, though what really makes it stand out is how honest it is. The things women think about themselves and their lives are probably close to all of our innermost thoughts, but that doesn’t make them any less true or less relevant. There’s nothing preachy in their thoughts or actions, which helps with making all of them relatable. A true value is found in its ability to make you think long and hard about how you operate. This is not an ordinary self-help book or some BS inspirational text meant to help motivate people towards success; instead, it makes you stop and consider your daily behaviors. It reveals how our actions are spontaneous and unplanned most of the time because we live in a cultural cycle that makes these choices for us. In essence, this book breaks down how much our society encourages bad habits over good ones, even if we know better. It is inspirational and humbling; it is motivational and warm; it is honest and loving. The Committed Marriage is a great book for those who are already committed to their marriage as well as those who are searching for their soulmates and looking to get married. it gives a good background into what goes into a marriage and how each person can be better prepared for their relationship. I would recommend that any woman who is looking to get married read over The Committed Marriage. Although it may sound like it’s just going to give you all sorts of rules, it truly does help both women and men realize what they need to do in order to have a successful marriage. The author bases her writings on Torah sources and practical insights acquired from working with thousands of clients over many years. Her style is direct and unpretentious, reminiscent of any good teacher you might have in high school or college, who knows what they are talking about and cares that you understand it. Then I definitely recommend that you read these books. They are worth your time. Each of them will touch your heart in one way or another. Whether they make you cry because of their sheer beauty, make you stop for a second and realize what exactly has gone wrong in your life or something completely different. It does not matter which one makes you stop long enough to realize that life isn’t perfect but there are beautiful things around us every day to cherish all we have.
